What to expect
A typical Sunday morning consists of a short welcome and a time of sung worship, followed by teaching from the bible. After this there is an opportunity to receive prayer from the Prayer Team and then enjoy free refreshments and a time to socialise together.
During our time of worship, words to the songs appear on a screen. We regularly share communion together, which is a way for Christians to encounter Jesus and remember his death and resurrection. We also take an 'offering', this is an opportunity for people to contribute financially towards the mission of the church. There's no expectation for visitors to contribute. There's no specific dress code and you don't need to bring anything with you.
God loves families and so do we. We want your kids to have a great time learning about the love of Jesus in a friendly, fun and safe environment. We have two groups that run every Sunday for those up to the age of 11. And then we also have a group for those at Secondary School that gathers every Friday evening and some Sundays.
To put your mind at ease, we have put a thorough safeguarding policy in place to ensure that your children are as safe with us as they can be. All of our leaders and helpers have been DBS checked and have received training for their roles.
See the sections below for more details on our under 18s groups and also our young adults Sunday lunches.
We have a creche facility that is available to use throughout the morning on Sundays. Feel free to take your children there whenever you need, though please don't feel like you have to remove your child from the service if they are restless - we don't mind a bit of noise! The creche will be staffed during the sermon from about 11:15am. You are welcome to stay with your children, or to leave them with our friendly creche team so you can listen to the preach. If you are needed to attend to your child we will contact you.
When: Sundays 10:30am - 12pm (staffed from 11:15am)
Where: Last room on the left at the end of the corridor from the auditorium
Impact is our fantastic children's group for those in primary school. Impact learn about the good news of Jesus, how they can know God personally and how to apply the bible to their lives in fun, age appropriate ways. The children leave the service during the time of worship, when announced from the front. If it's a child's first time out with Impact, they will need to be registered by a parent/guardian when the children go out. All of the children must be collected by their parents at the end of the service.
When: Sunday mornings, roughly 11am - 12pm
Where: First room on the left out from the auditorium
"Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example to the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity" - 1 Tim 4:12
That is the heart behind Forge, our teenagers group. We want to equip our teens to live out these attributes both now and in the future. Forge also have loads of fun together playing games, watching films, eating together and other activities. If you would like to know more about what goes on, please email: firstname.lastname@example.org Forge meet every other Sunday and occasionally have activity evenings mentioned above.
We have a young adults group in the church called Xcentral who enjoy sharing lunch together nearly every Sunday. Anyone is welcome to come and eat together, laugh together and encourage one another. As much as possible meals are hosted at the homes of hospitable Christ First members and so often there's a chance to ask questions of the host/s about growing in life and faith. If you would like to come along then you're more than welcome.
When: Sundays after church
